Hi, I'm Jiaxu (Jashu). I'm now an undergraduate student studying Physics and Data Science at Fudan University in Shanghai, China.

I’m passionate about technology and entrepreneurship. I enjoy exploring the infinite space of technology and seeing how it transforms into a promising business model that can impact human society and tackle the thorny challenges we face today. My research interests mainly center around Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence. I’ve done several cool projects about AI applications. I have also gained valuable insights into business and strategy through my internship experiences in management consulting. I have received an offer to join Boston Consulting Group Shanghai office. I’m eager to explore what change I can bring to this world!

My life trajectory started in the suburbs of a small city, proceeded to the provincial capital Zhengzhou, and now I’m in Shanghai. Along the way, I realized how exposing myself to diverse cultures and communicating different ideas could enable the reimagination of a career and a life. Therefore, I’m passionate about connecting people through intercultural communications and public speaking. Feel free to explore the exciting activities and speeches that have shaped my journey.

  Community Detection, Visualization and POI Prediction Based on Spatial-Temporal Trajectories

  • Community Detection: Designed an algorithm to construct a weighted graph measuring user similarity based on records of points of interest (POI), selected the Louvain algorithm for community detection
  • Trajectory Visualization: Visualized user spatio-temporal trajectories using D3.js and Leaflet.js
  • POI Prediction: Used Graph Convolutional Networks to acquire place embeddings, combined user, location category, place and time embeddings as inputs to a Transformer to predict the next POI, achieved 0.62 accuracy (Top 10)
 Reinforcement Learning Models for LunarLander-v2 Game

  • Algorithm Design: Implemented reinforcement learning algorithms including Policy Gradient, Actor-Critic, and Deep Q Networks, tailored to the game environment
  • Algorithm Improvement: Enhanced algorithms with reward optimization based on game-specific features, achieving a landing success rate of over 90% in the OpenAI simulator
 Predictive Model of Postoperative Acute Kidney Injury

  • Study Design: Collaborated with doctors to establish the research framework, discussed the scope of features, and performed data preprocessing and visualization based on medical insights
  • Model Development: Compared the performance of models like LightGBM in predicting postoperative AKI, selected the best-performing model with an AUC above 0.8 to provide insights for clinical decision making
  • Medical Interpretation: Utilized SHAP to provide explanations to doctors about the medical implications of machine learning results, co-authored a research paper as a joint first author
